Terms of Service

Effective Date: March 15, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the MatchaVPN application and virtual private network service ("Service"), operated by Jumpei Ueno.

By downloading, installing, or using MatchaVPN, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Description of Service

MatchaVPN provides a virtual private network service that encrypts your internet traffic using the WireGuard protocol. The Service routes your traffic through our server located in Tokyo, Japan, to help protect your privacy and security online.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to use the Service. By using MatchaVPN, you represent that you meet this requirement.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service for any of the following:

• Any activity that violates applicable laws or regulations
• Copyright infringement or intellectual property theft
• Unauthorized access to computer systems or networks
• Distribution of spam, malware, or other harmful content
• Launching or participating in denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks or botnets
• Distribution of child sexual abuse material
• Any activity that damages or disrupts the Service, its infrastructure, or other users' experience

We reserve the right to terminate your access to the Service if we determine, in our sole discretion, that you have violated this Acceptable Use Policy.

4. Pricing and Subscriptions

MatchaVPN is available as a paid subscription service through the Apple App Store. The current subscription plan is:

• Monthly: 500 JPY/month (prices in other currencies are set by Apple based on your App Store region)

New users are eligible for a 7-day free trial, managed by Apple. Trial eligibility is limited to one per Apple ID.

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID settings (Manage Subscriptions). No pro-rata refunds are provided for partial billing periods.

Payment is processed by Apple. For refund requests, please contact Apple Support.

Your use of the Service is also subject to the Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

5. Service Availability

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may:

• Perform maintenance that results in temporary unavailability
• Modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time
• Change server locations or infrastructure without notice

We are not responsible for internet connectivity issues, network outages, or other factors outside our control.

6. Intellectual Property

The MatchaVPN application and its underlying technology are the property of Jumpei Ueno. All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved.

"WireGuard" is a registered trademark of Jason A. Donenfeld. MatchaVPN uses open-source components under their respective licenses.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• The Service is provided without warranty of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
• MatchaVPN shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
• Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.
• MatchaVPN is not responsible for any illegal or unauthorized activities you conduct through the Service. You are solely responsible for your use of the VPN.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Jumpei Ueno and MatchaVPN from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you violate these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy. You may stop using the Service at any time by deleting the MatchaVPN app from your device.

Sections 6 through 8 (Intellectual Property, Limitation of Liability, and Indemnification) survive termination of these Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Japan.

11. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
